This is the Podcast for providers and advisers looking to share business ideas and inspiration in the world of protection and finance.

An increasing number of partial payments are now standard features of modern critical illness products. But Pru Protect’s Serious Illness Cover has always paid out different percentages for different levels of severity.

In Episode 12 my guest is Phil Jeynes.

Hear Phil talk about how partial payments and Serious Illness Cover developed and how it compares to traditional critical illness cover.

Hear his suggestions about how to overcome the perception that it’s too complicated, and the business opportunities it represents.

Who is Phil Jeynes?

Phil is Head of Account Development and PR at Pru Protect and is the public face of that company , famous in the UK for its Serious Illness Plan and Vitality – a type of critical illness product that pays out partial sums depending upon the severity of the illness.

Before that Phil was Head of New Business at Direct Life and Pensions Ltd.

This is the Podcast for providers and advisers looking to share business ideas and inspiration in the world of protection and finance.

In the UK it’s compulsory for companies to offer workers that comply with particular circumstances an ‘appropriate eye test’ paid for by their employers. Offering more than the standard optician test can be a great employee benefit.

And of course there are schemes out there that can make this more affordable for businesses. It’s also an opportunity for advisers who have corporate clients.

In Episode 11 my guest is Jeremy Chadwick.

Hear Jeremy talk about the positive benefits of Optical Health Care which not only looks after eye health but can also help detect other illnesses early and allow early treatment.

He also talks about Vision Care from VSP and the opportunities this can bring to advisers.

This is the Podcast for providers and advisers looking to share business ideas and inspiration in the world of protection and finance.

In Episode 5 my guest is Phil Knight.

Phil has worked in the medical insurance sector since 1994 for the likes of WPA, Standard Life Healthcare, AXA PPP and Simply Health and financial services more generally from 1989, he set up his own specialist medical insurance practice in 2011 (working with Premier Choice Healthcare) and advises clients on all aspects of medical insurance in the UK and around the world. He promotes his practice as a fusion of technical knowledge and focused customer transparency.

Away from work he has two main passions: technology and martial arts. I wanted to get Philip on the podcast so that we can talk about how he uses technology via his medical insurance podcast to pass marketing messages and information on to his customers.

Here’s a little known fact - Phil has studied several martial arts since 1980 and now holds separate black belts in two styles of karate - but so far Phil hasn't found a way to successfully merge martial arts into his business life!

You might think that Private Medical Insurance, Podcasting and Social Media are strange topics to lump together. But Phil has boosted the success of his private medical insurance business by launching PMICast and using social media to drive traffic to his website.

Listen to how he has generated new leads and built a loyal audience of advisers and clients.
